  • Modell did not care. He wanted Brown the football player, not the actor, to appear in training camp. When Brown began production on The Dirty Dozen, filmed in London starting early in 1966, much of the film’s initial days of shooting were delayed because of rainy weather. When training camp began in the summer of 1966, Brown did not show up, and the relationship between Brown and Modell was officially no longer chummy.
